Saint George Theater Department

Saint George Theater Department

The Saint George Theater Department allows our 4th - 8th grade students to participate and/or perform in our school productions.

Involvement with the theater department enables students to:

  • Develop an appreciation for the performing arts

  • Increase self-confidence and self-esteem

  • Develop a sense of responsibility

  • Work in teams

  • Develop and improve speaking skills and reading comprehension

Saint George School students in grades 4 through 8 may choose to audition to be a musical cast member, or work "behind the scenes” as stage crew, technical support for lighting and sound, ushers to seats, ticket takers, or program distributors. As a result of our first production which began in 2003, many of Saint George School students have pursued acting or furthering their stage work in high school and beyond!

The Saint George School Theatrical Department Director, Mrs. Nichole Mancuso, makes the difference at Saint George School and no one knows this better than our students and parents! She has a big impact on students’ long-term participation in the drama club. Many of our students acquire 6 years of acting experience prior to attending high school. Mrs. Mancuso carefully recruits from auditions and ensures the students selected have a significant role that will enable them to portray characters which come to life on opening night. Of course our productions wouldn’t be complete without the students who serve as stage crew and and other behind the scene members. Mrs. Mancuso gives nothing but high consideration for these important cast members. Her dedication keeps the students coming back for more.

Lyrical Lancers Choral Group

The Saint George School “Lyrical Lancers” is a choral instruction and performance group of students ranging from grades 6 through 8. New to the 2015-2016 school year- this choral group, developed by Mrs. Nichole Mancuso, Saint George School Music Teacher and Performing Arts Director, offers an opportunity to develop students' passion for music, dance, singing and performing. Students will learn proper vocal and dance techniques while working together as an ensemble. To become a member of the Saint George School Lyrical Lancers, students are required to audition, commit to attending practices and participate in performing at school and community events.
