The founders of Saint George had an extraordinary vision to establish a school committed to our children recognizing that they represent the future of our community and to educate each child individually preparing them for the mantle of leadership based on the mission of faith.
On a beautiful day in September of 1944, that vision became a reality. Saint George School opened its doors with a student body of approximately one hundred and eighty eight and a faculty of ten Sisters of Mercy.
For over six decades, SGS has seen tremendous growth and thrived to become the largest Catholic elementary school in the Erie Diocese and trusted name in the Erie Community.
As alumni of Saint George School, you are a member of that tradition. You are our partners in mission and our mantles of leadership. Some of your fondest memories and closest friendships date back to your school days at Saint George School.
In order for Saint George School to continue in its mission and commitment to children and tradition of education for the school’s current 590 students, 35 faculty, and 50 staff members, financial gifts from current and former parents, alumni, grandparents, current and former trustees, faculty, and friends are being sought to preserve and provide invaluable opportunities.
There are innumerable ways to support the school and its philanthropic priorities. Your support of the Saint George School Fund, Monsignor Franklin Endowment, and restricted gifts are welcomed and appreciated.
