The Saint George Guidance Program is designed to help students understand and deal with their academic, social, behavioral, and personal problems.
In order to provide the most effective results with a student facing a difficulty, we work with teachers, school administrators, parents, school psychologists, school nurses, and social workers.
SGS Peer Tutoring Program
Our Peer Tutoring Program is a service created and designed by the SGS Guidance Department. It enables us to provide assistance to students in grades 1-8 who are having academic difficulty in the classroom. The SGS Peer Tutoring Program is the only one of its kind to be offered on an elementary level.
Peer tutors are eighth grade students who are recommended by a faculty member using the following criteria for selection:
Committed to supporting their students
Demonstrated proficiency in the subjects they are tutoring
Possess the ability to share, interpret, and clarify information for their students
Positive outlook on academics
Ability to interact & establish rapport with children aged 6-13
Tutoring is made available before and after regular school hours.
