PTO is an organization that consists of parents and teachers of Saint George School. Our mission is to promote the partnership between parents, teachers, and students by providing a healthy, caring and educational environment for all. Our goal, as an organization, is to assure Saint George students the opportunity for a high quality education in a Christian environment and a Catholic oriented curriculum through the promotion of educational and cultural programs and projects.
What does PTO do?
PTO groups are best known for fundraising. In times of shrinking school budgets, fundraising has taken on an increased importance. Our main fundraiser is the "All Around Erie" coupon book. The SGS PTO focuses on building the kind of school community where teachers and students can do their best work. This means planning and promoting family evenets, class parties and field trips, fun student activities, and more! Some of these include our annual Christmas Store, Spring Play, end of the year Waldameer School Picnic, Field Day, Pizza & Pop Family Night, Graduation festivities, and Spirit Day. We strive to connect with parents and teachers for the benefit of our children. Parents who get involved feel a connection with the school and PTO, and the school as a whole becomes more successful. The more dedicated the parents are, that become involved with PTO, the more PTO can accomplish for the school and the students. We hope you will support SGS PTO!
How can you help?
The Saint George School PTO always appreciates their parent volunteers. Whether you can commit to 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed and appreciated. We have many ways in which Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Aunts, and Uncles can contribute. Please consider volunteering, it really does make a difference in our children's lives!
Please feel free to contact PTO President Carrie Schuschu at 864-3248 with questions or the opportunity to GET IN THE KNOW & JOIN PTO!
