The mission of the Saint George School Cafeteria is to make a significant contribution to the physical and mental well being of each student to enable them to fully participate in the educational process. This mission will be achieved by providing wholesome, nutritious, appetizing school lunches served in a friendly manner and accomplished in the most efficient cost effective means possible in compliance with School Lunch Program and the guidelines of the Federal Wellness Policy.
Saint George School Cafeteria participates in the National School Lunch Program, serving reasonably priced, nutritionally balanced school lunches to students and staff. Guided by the Federal Government and the Wellness Policy, our lunches consist of 5 components: protein, vegetable, fruit, grain, and milk. Only 3 of these components need to be taken to be considered a full lunch. An example would be if the student purchased a protein, grain, and milk (chicken patty sandwich and milk).
Check out our menu for an idea of the wide variety we serve! Milk is availble for purchase to those who pack their lunch. Ice cream, pretzels, and other healthful snacks are available for purchase.
Juice is available for those with allergies. A doctor's note is required.
Free and Reduced Price Lunches
Applications are available for free and reduced price lunches. The online Application for Pennsylvanians to apply for the Federal Free/Reduced Price School Lunch program are available at www.compass.state.pa.us Applications are accepted by online filing only.
Our Cafeteria is licensed by the Erie County Department of Health and undergoes two health inspections per school year.
Training in the H.A.C.C.P. program has been provided to all staff members. In addition, two staff members are serve-safe ceretified.
